Congratulations to the latest winners of a new W-DMX R-512 Micro Receiver from Wireless Solution Sweden AB. The Micro, also known as the Rabbit, is a smaller, compact version of the W-DMX Blackbox receiver. The units were distributed as prizes at the recent InfoComm trade show in Anaheim, California.
Visitors to the TMB booth were encouraged to submit the most creative use for wireless DMX. All submissions earned a beer at the TMB booth and entries were judged for creativity and innovation. Ryan Wilkinson is an independent production coordinator who won for his use of W-DMX for large weddings and other events. In addition to eliminating cable runs in the rooms, he plans to rig tables with LEDs to create astounding effects for clients. At the Creative Stage Lighting booth, visitors could drop their business card in a fishbowl drawing to win the Micro unit. The lucky winner was Nick Martinez, Event Technology Operations Manager of the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter. InfoComm 07 celebrated its most successful year to date, with over 800 exhibitors visited by 28,000 commercial AV professionals, technology managers, chief information officers and procurement personnel from 80 countries. W-DMX is finding a tremendous success in the AV market, thanks to its interference-free technology that eliminates the need for DMX cabling in a wide variety of AV applications. W-DMX by Wireless Solution Sweden AB is the only system on the market for Wireless DMX that is dual award winning, at both PLASA 2004 and again at LDI 2005 in Orlando. Most recently, W-DMX “outshone the rest” in an independent Wireless Shootout held by Lighting & Sound International magazine. It has been used in high profile projects all over the world, including the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest, 2006 Nobel Prize Banquet, the World Cup Opening Ceremonies and Cirque du Soleil’s Delirium show.
