Wireless Solution Sweden AB is proud to announce the release of two new W-DMX Micro products: The BlackBox S-1 Micro Transmitter and the BlackBox R-512 Micro Lite Receiver. “The Micro line was extended after seeing the incredible response to the R-512 Micro receiver released in 2006,” says Niclas Arvidsson, International Sales Manager for Wireless Solution, “the unit has all the reliable functionality of the full sized W-DMX BlackBox units, but the compact size was appealing to a large number of end users.” The new Micro series builds upon the considerable successes of the full size BlackBox range. Thanks to advances in circuit miniaturization, Wireless Solution has managed to fit the complete W-DMX system into a compact package with less than half the volume of the usual casing. Even with the compact size, the S-1 Micro includes a full battery backup system and even the antenna. The battery backup system in the S-1 Micro can be utilized in two ways depending on the installation requirements and availability of power. Where power is available but not always reliable, the Micro unit’s battery system performs the role of an uninterrupted power supply, ensuring seamless operation during outages. Alternatively, in situations where power is difficult to feed to the Micro unit’s location, it can provide up to eight hours continuous independent operation from a full charge. When power is available, the Micro units can accept low voltage inputs in the range 12 to 24VDC. Drawing on the considerable experience of W-DMX in wireless communications, the internal antenna in both the S-1 Micro and the Micro Lite uses next generation AIDA® technology to provide extended operational range compared to conventional omnidirectional antennae. The Micro series units also present exactly the same control panel as the full sized BlackBox with its clear status indicators and intuitive single button control. The Micro units are also fully compatible with all other products in the W-DMX range so that they can be mixed and matched as necessary. All Micro products are housed within a tough injection molded plastic case with an inclusive truss holder bracket. On the rear of the case, mounting holes placed at 45 degree increments allow each Micro unit to be positioned in the optimum orientation. “We believe that the impressive combination of miniaturization, toughness, flexibility and ease of use make the Micro series a natural selection for a variety of demanding applications. After using them, we feel sure that users will agree,” says Arvidsson. W-DMX is the perfect solution for applications where running DMX cable is not practical. The product range has a high power radio output with up to 350mW and has full support of RDM. The products are CE and ETSI certified in Europe and Asia, FCC certified in the Americas (awaiting UL), and is certified in Japan with ARIB STD-T66 radio standards. W-DMX technology uses Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) and is the only system on the market using Adaptive Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (AFHSS) to avoid interference. The system has been hailed by critics worldwide as the number one product for interference-free wireless DMX technology.
