Wireless Solution Sweden AB helped Israel celebrate independence day in style. “Israel@60” was a worldwide celebration to commemorate the country’s 60th year of independence. While special ceremonies celebrated the event from as far as Washington DC, the biggest festivities were in the Israeli cities of Haifa and Tel Aviv.
The project name for the Israel events was “Lighting the Sky” and combined multimedia sound and lighting with a laser show and pyro effects, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display. Altogether there were 8 different mega shows at various sites, with the two main shows in Tel Aviv and Haifa. Lighting designer for the events was Bambi (AKA Avio Benyaho) with lighting equipment supplied by Procon Event Engineering and Israel based Gil Teichman. Because of the massive distances from console to lighting, W-DMXTM by Wireless Solution was chosen as the obvious answer. In Tel Aviv, 1 W-DMX transmitter and 2 W-DMX receivers were used to control 80 Space Cannon Ireos 7K at an average distance of 500 meters (1640 feet). In Haifa, the distance was more than 2km (1.2 miles). Kobi Rosenthal of Gil Teichman remarked, “The W-DMX worked perfect! Even at two kilometers with thousands of people present, it was extremely reliable. It was also very easy for the operator to get it working. Everyone was very pleased.” W-DMX by Wireless Solution Sweden AB is the number one system on the market for Wireless DMX, winning awards at major trade shows on both sides of the Atlantic. Lighting & Sound International magazine proclaimed that W-DMX “outshone the rest” in an independent test, “The Great Wireless Shootout”. It has been used in high profile projects all over the world, including the Céline Dion World Tour, the Pyramids of Giza, Times Square in New York City and on the world’s largest ferris wheel, the Singapore Flyer.
