Wireless Solution Sweden AB is once again using PLASA to showcase new and future W-DMX™ products, as well as hosting an educational seminar to educate the public on the benefits and advances in Wireless DMX technology. Wireless Solution will be in Hall 1, Stand E43
One of the most exciting products on display will be the UglyBox Performance Kit, nominated for a PLASA Innovation Award. The UglyBox Performance Kit includes the new W-DMX UglyBox and Co-Existence Dongle with a wide selection of antennae to provide feedback on all aspects of wireless signal, never before available to lighting technicians. The rugged UglyBox test tool measures the DMX channel data values, the real time signal strength, and the history of signal stability. The Co-Existence Dongle ensures harmony of multiple wireless protocols by enabling custom channel selection and adjustment of output power. Together with the accompanying software for radio spectrum monitoring and antenna calculation, the kit ensures a safe, controlled environment for wireless DMX. The UglyBox Performance kit is available now. Also on display is the upcoming series of the W-DMX Installation series, which includes the S-1, S-2 and R-512. They are all IP65 rated and follow the NEMA standard, with all the interference-free reliability of the original series. The new Installation series is built into a custom molding with a built-in wall-mount bracket for quick and smooth installation, and a new easy-access, IP65 protected cover to allow hassle-free access to the “One-button-2-go” interior components. It also now gives users an easy view of the signal bar from the outside, whereas the display was located on the inside in the previous models. In addition, the new Installation Series has improved ventilation, making the units work in ambient temperatures up to 50°C (122°F) continuously. The W-DMX Installation series is available from February 2010. On Sunday, September 13, 15.00-16.00 in Whitehall Room, Earls Court Two, Wireless Solution is hosting an educational seminar: Wireless DMX – How to Co-Exist in a Wireless World. With ever increasing amounts of wireless traffic in the air, it is important to understand how W-DMX from Wireless Solution works peacefully together with these other users of the radio spectrum, providing rock-solid reliability even in the harshest of conditions. Ben Darrington of Wireless Solution will cover topics including the basics of a Wireless DMX system, from simple ‘plug-and-play’ with ‘One-button-2-go’ technology up to large, multi-universe events incorporating advanced W-DMX features, including its Co-existence technology. More advanced topics include the use of different antennas, accessories and tools to build a robust, interference-free, time-saving Wireless DMX network. The course is aimed at technicians, technical sales and production managers for TV, theatre, and indoor/outdoor events and installations.
