They rented the mobile Cobra coaster and painted it black. LED tube lighting was attached to the structure’s vertical elements and wrapped around the five two-seater carriages, with Plein’s monogram emblazoned on the front. The black track was also illuminated by lights underneath the rails. The ride was used to represent shapes in the clothing designs and to create an overall feeling of adrenaline for the show, according to Plein.
Lux Lumen was supplier, manufacturer and installer of the 400 15W LED spots, 300m LED flex, 300 LED dots with all related drivers, all made and installed within 10 days. Kristof Wouters of Lux Lumen explained, “We had to switch the lighting on and off or strobe with the LED strips during the show. Every car had a W-DMX receiver. We had to place the transmitter as high as possible, to avoid obstruction of the metal structure. The show was extremely well received.”
Niclas Arvidsson, CEO of Wireless Solution said, “Yet another very creative use of W-DMX – one that could have not possibly been done with cable! Lux Lumen did a fantastic job and the show got a lot of press for its over-the-top display.”
