      WIRELESS SECRETS

WHY DO WE NEED LINE-OF-SIGHT(LOS)?

Let's consider the basic Wireless DMX setup: sending data from Point A (transmitter) to Point B (receiver). The unobstructed path between two antennas is referred to as Line-of-Sight.

- Line-of-Sight: Unobstructed between the two antennas
- Near Line-of-Sight: Partial obstructions such as tree tops
-Non Line-of-Sight: full obstruction between antennas

By determining the specific LOS conditions in the installation you can choose the correct type of antennas to install.

For indoor and outdoor installations it is important to consider obstacles like walls, ceilings, trees, lamp posts, etc. Reflections (when wireless signals "bounce" off objects) can affect the quality of the installation.

As with any wireless installation, line-of-sight must be considered. Each installation is different, and if you need a guiding hand, get in touch:
